Gavia Mk II
The Gavia-II is the Stelvio’s baby brother, but there’s nothing “baby” about this turntable.
It shares the following identical key components with the Stelvio II:
- the drive system
- the bearing
- the arm arm wings and armboards
- the front "headshell" pillar
The Gavia II differs from the Stelvio II in the following ways:
Platter: the Gavia platter (32 Lbs.) and the Stelvio platter (44.5 Lbs.) are identical in construction, and differ in only one way. The Stelvio platter has a 14 pound central layer of brass, where as this layer in the Gavia is PVC.
Base: The Gavia base is solid aluminum, while the Stelvio has a complex matrix of damping chambers.
Single Arm Standard: the Gavia is sold with a single arm mount. A second arm wing and armboard is optional.
Finish: the Gavia is matte finish anodized aluminum (previous iterations were polished aluminum) and the Stelvio is custom painted.
Born in the U.S.A.
